Trademarks and or service marks can be obtained, If you click on the trademark page of this forum you can get direct information about what to do. You obviously want to do it yourself. You may be able to do it. Unfortunately for the public unless you are fully acquainted with the subtleties of the law, you may not find out that you have made a mistake until. Later when it is too late. That is where the service mark Elaine's Workshop came from. I had a client that tried this, then came back. Soon thereafter they were able to sell their trademarks for a very good price.
