The short answer is no, you wil not own the any copyrights in the letters. Additionally, althought the Copyright Act Section 103 specifies that compilations are copyrightable subject matter, the copyright in a compilation extends only to the compilation author's original expression. This means that you will not obtain any rights in the preexisting works that you use in the compilation merely because you select, coordinate or arrange them in the compilation.
