That really depends on the names that Company X has chosen. For example, a generic mark, which is the common, descriptive name of the good or service (ie - computer, cola, or copy machine), cannot serve as a valid mark in the United States. Accordingly, anyone would be able to use such a name.

The logo, on the other hand, is most likely protected. However, a logo, too, may not be protected if it is merely comprised of a fanciful font.

In conclusion, I would need more information about the names and logos about which you are inquiring. Call me for a free consultation.
