What do I have to do??? Dear Mr. Lambert, The idea must be kept secret until you are ready to go public. Confidientiality agreements are the best way to go. Copyright in likely of no value to protect the idea. A patent, if possible may be the best way to go. Selling it yourself may also be a good way to profit. A trademark may get the product know even if it is copyiable. Coca Cola still has a great reputation despite the other Cola beverages. If you market the bait yourself, there is a possibility that the end product may be able to be protected as a trade secret. Disclosure to a qualified Intellectual Property lawyer you can trust may help you to fine the way. Just paying for a trademark or a copyright only means spending money unless you deal with the whole picture. The is a small charge for our Reality CheckŪ. Even if the Reality CheckŪ results in no action, you have saved time, money and worry and you are armed for better dealing with the next idea. M.
