: I've been all over the world and have seen Video Artists appropriate music, without permission, into their "art videos" shown at galleries, art shows and museums. Is this "appropriation" a violation of copyright laws or is there some way around it: ie. using only a certain percentage of a piece, or using it in another medium other than music, or is it always an out and out violation?
