Copyright- quotes, tapes, radio[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Copyright Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by Bob McNamara on November 17, 2001 at 06:33:03:
I'm doing research for a non-fiction article. I recently came across some very good quotes from a copyrighted cassette tape. How can I, legally and properly, use these quotes in my article? Is it acceptable to give the author of this copyrighted material full credit in the article and not contact him and ask for written permission? How is this done? My second question pertains to radio. If I hear a quote from an expert, who is a guest on a radio program, can I use that quote if I give full credit to the expert source and the radio station? Or do I have to mention the radio station at all?
