: : : please tell me how to go about copywriting my songs. I have written many Original songs, lyrics , and music and would like to know how to copywrite it so I won't be ripped off for my talents. do you have the forms necessary for me to complete this? please respond asap. thank you Dear Mr. Newberry, The legal proceedures are not complex, understanding and using the copyright law is important. The copyright law protects what you create. Just registering a copyright may be a waste of money or very expensive is you have lots of works even though the official filing fee is only $30. The advice of an Intellectual Propety Lawyer you can trust might be helpful. M. Arthur Auslander Auslander & Thomas-Intellectual Property Law Since 1909
