: Where do you go or what do you do to satify the copywrite laws for the songs I would like to record for retail sales? Is there one organization that can handle this? What would happen if I did not satify the copywrite of a certain song? I know that pre 1923 song are no longer copywrited.

Copyright infingement cost legal fees with wide discretion in the judge as as to damages, if the infringment is a civil matter and not a criminal matter.
