RECIPE COPYRIGHT LAWS

I have read the postings on 7/9/01 concerning "putting together a recipe book", but my question is a little more involved. What are the copyright laws concerning a recipe you found on the internet on someone's copyrighted web page--the recipe contains a listing of ingredients as well as an explanation and directions. I would like to modify this recipe slightly and use this recipe and market/sale the product. Would this be a copyright infringement?
