A past member of our non-profit organization is a published author. This person wrote an original work for our group to perform. On our copies of the script, it is written:
I am uncertain how to copyright something as well as how to follow up and see that it was copyrighted and if so, that it done correctly. : : Someone wrote a musical script for a non-profit organization (NPO). On the title page is reads that it is copywritten FOR that organization BY that person. : : What, if any thing, does the NPO need to do if it is to perform this work again. Is it legally the NPO's? Do we need to get permission from the author? Is any other documentation required? : : What is the next step to have it documented? : Dear L. Williams, : Who has what in writing? One the basis of what you have said there is only legal jumble. : M. Arthur Auslander : Auslander & Thomas-Intellectual Property Law Since 1909
