I write everything from songs to stories, but my first love is poetry. Everyone, including my professors are telling me how good my work is. And they believe I should get my writing copyrighted and published because they think it would sell. I would love to publish my writing, but I don't know the first step to getting a copyright. And I don't know how to go about publishing my poems. Please can you give me some resources or sites that I can visit for this information, or is it possible for you to help me?? Dear Ms. Sago, The copyright usually is the last thing of concern. The is basic protection without registration and registration is simple. The publishers usually take care of the registration. The trick is to get the poetry to a publisher, or submit to magazines that publish poems to be published. If you don't know the publishers, go to the local library and ask. Also find poetry books, see who the publishers are and then submit. It is my understanding, that it is not easy, but if you keep plugging you will find a way. M.
