Can a structural engineering detail drawing based on concepts standard in the industry be copyrighted? That is, suppose I made an engineering drawing of a detail showing how to connect a 2x4 to a truss joist in the corner. This is a standard thing used in all buildings and the method is standard. Can my drawing be copyrighted?
