: I'm currently 100 pages into a novel that I believe to be highly marketable- once finished. I want to know if this work can be copywritten as is, and subsequently add the rest to the same copyright upon completion.
Dear Steven K. White,
Getting the work finished and published is the crux. There seldom is need to register an unpublished copyright.
The agreement with the publisher is where things are at. The publisher in almost every instance takes care of the copyright. You need to be protected in the agreement.
