I have an art gallery, and import many of my paintings from Japan or China. All paintings are hand painted copies of originals. One of the original artists is still alive. I was told by my supplier that it was legal for them to paint, and for me to sell these copies of this painting because #1- this is not a actual copy because it is hand painted #2 they do not put the orignal artists name on it. I also was reading that most copyrights can not be protected Internationally. Please advice me on this.
