: : : I am looking for information on how to copywright a receipe, and the receipe's name. I would greatly appreciate any information on this subject. Thanks

: The name of your recipe can be protected as a trademark if you have used it in commerce to designate to the public that the recipe has come from a particular source.
: (e.g., OREOS, BOSCO, Coca-Cola, Andersen Split Pea Soup; Froot Loops, etc.)

: The recipe may be protected under copyright, however the protection is limited to the expressive aspects, (e.g., a "pinch" of sugar - rather than 1/2 teaspoon). If contained in a cookbook, the cookbook can be registered under copyright, however it too is subject to limitations.

: As a trade secret, your formula or methods may be entitled to protection, if they are not disclosed to the public and your assistant chefs understand and agree that the recipe is a "secret".
