Yes it is prudent and advisable although such protection may be limited. Generally speaking, ideas and concepts are not protectible under copyright. Copyright law only protects creative expression as embodied in text and drawings. The words, drawings, notes and images that the author has used if sufficiently creative and original may be protected under copyright. Similarly, short slogans and titles cannot be protected under the copyright law.
