Similiar things have been done, but since the idea itself isn't copyrightable, then this is OK??? : Dear Karen Luzzi, : The work is registerable as a copyright even if it is an infringement. Ideas in tangible form may be patentable. Copying is the danger in copyright not the idea behind the work. : A clear answer would require more information. : M. Arthur Auslander Thanks for the quick response. My work is unlike any other baby book, its a different approach to a unique situation, a baby book for the adopted child. Since I would not be infringing on anyones copywrite, would I be infringing on a patent??? I only ask because you mentioned that ideas are patentable. I am anxious to know. I am hoping to use this idea to aid us in the costly expenses of adoption that we are presently going through.
