I am redrawing maps using several (4 and 5 on some) sources. I need to know if I can do this and put the maps on the internet on my web page. The Maps are hand drawn and it is obvious that they are hand drawn. I am not going to be selling the maps I am making but I may sell advertising on my page. Is this Ok? How many sources do I need to use to avoid infringement? I know that many people do this but I need to know what the law is here. Also I need to know If at some point I can copyright my maps?
Thank you for your help.
Karen
