If I am the copyright owner, do I need permission from the client to make a short sample (demo) from their wedding video to be viewed by future clients in my studio ? Dear Tom, Unless there is a proper writing to the contrary, you own the creative rights. Owning the creative rights does not give you, in itself the right to commercialize on the work product. The reality is that a violation of these rights may not give rise to a cause of action worth suing on. Written permission is the safe way. M. Arthur Auslander
