It is very likely that you own the work product that you created. You own the mode of expression that you created. If you have not assigned it nor were under an obligation to assign it or were not employed to to create the work even if it was done at home. The idea is not protectible. If you rock the boat now you may jeopardize your job and the employer my be able to use the idea without infringing your rights.
