: I am starting an online music store selling cd's and records. I want to use short (20 sec) samples to help promote the music that i'm selling as I think this would increase sales dramatically. I have noticed that this is commonly done on the internet so I am sure their is a way of approaching this other than getting permission from every artist or label individually. I have heard somewhere that if a sound sample is under a certain length (time) it is ok to use. I have been unable to find any information on this topic. Can anybody tell me where I would find this kind of information? : Thanks
