: I am writing a novel and I write poetry that I want copywrighted. I want to know if there is a website that I can go to and get it done. If there is one, I'd like to know the site and if there's not tell me where to get my work copywrighted at. Thanks!
There may be websites for Intellectual Property lawyers who can register a copyright for you. There generally is no need to register a copyright on a manuscript. The Copyright Office webpage is http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/cpyintro.html. Forms can be obtained there too.
Publishers usually take care of the copyright. Do you intend to publish yourself. An unpublished copyright can be obtained. It is of limited value it only protects against infringers who have had access. Proof of access may be difficult. You may need more practical advice with regard to your goals.
