Newsletter Questions[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Copyright Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by A. Hayek on February 01, 2001 at 08:02:13: I'm beginning to write a newsletter and have several questions regarding copyright. #1 - Is a newsletter considered a compilation if the articles, etc are not all written by the same author? #2 - If I ask someone to write an article for the newsletter, is it considered commissioned? Does it matter if it is a researched subject or an editorial? #3 - If I understand correctly, titles cannot be copyrighted. Is that correct? I wish to use a title similar to another publication, although I didn't realize theirs existed until today. #4 - Are there any other things I ought to know regarding copyright law for this type of publication. Thank you! A. Hayek
