: I am developing a new program for adolescents in Denver.
: I am considering the name:
: "PATHWAYS" as an acronym for "Prejudice Awareness Through Humanity"
: I don't find "Pathways" alone used locally (there are entities such as Pathways Church, etc.), but do I need to copyright and how do I find out if there is a duplication somewhere?
: Thank you.
A concern is whether or not the name conflicts with federally registered trademarks or service marks. If there are no federally registered marks, the risk of problems is small unless you are aware of a name conflict for the specific servic you intend to offer. If there is a liklihood of the service having an interstate impact then now is the time toconsider a federal trademark registration.
