I've learned alot reading your answers to the many diverse questions in this site.
My Question: I submit articles for publication to various aviation enthusiast magazines. In one magazine, when the articles are published, photograph credits are never listed (even though I request the editor publish them) and in many cases, other writers have not had their photographs returned. The magazine Editor ALWAYS lists photo credit for his photographs.
Could the magazine editor apply for copyright on photographs that he refuses to return? Could the magazine reproduce the photos and articles without permission from the submitter? ALL photos were marked on back with name of submitter but not copyright.
This particular magazine does not offer any contract or conditions for those submitting material for publication. All agreements are verbal.
