: I have recently obtained several hundred recipes which were published in newspapers as provided by people who used the recipes as entries in a recipe/cooking contest. As stated, the recipes which were published in the paper were as provided by the contestants and no source of where the recipes originated was provided. May I safely use these recipes in a published collection for juried recipes, as I have no way of knowing their copyright status? : Any help will certainly be appreciated. Thanks
