: I have recently formed a music band and I would like to know how I can protect our band name and our music lyrics from being used by anyone else. And I am wondering how I can copywrite our band name and lyrics so that noone will be able to steal any of our material and lyrics. I foyu can e-mail me back at Dear Mr. Borwn (Brown?), No matter how cash tight you feel, Early Legal Advice Is Not Expensive. There is a lot you can learn and even be guided to do yourself once you understand the law. One things is the Band name. It should be protected and should be searched to make certain that it is not in conflict with another group. When there is conflict that is where the pain and expense start. Lots of it. M.
