Use of vintage advertisements...[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Copyright Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by Terry Russell on November 20, 2000 at 09:47:14: Some time ago, I started reproducing vintage ads for use on note cards that I used in my personal correspondence. These are old advertisements from the 30's through the 50's (they relate to a specific hobby and depict companies that, for the most part, remain in business today, at least "brand name"-wise) and are reproduced from the actual original ads in my posession. Many recipients of these cards have asked me to make and sell these cards, but I question the legality of this. Would I be in violation of any law if I were to in fact make and sell these cards without first gaining permission to do so? Thanks for any information. Regards, TR
