: Thanks for the timely response. : What if the procedures within the manual are rewritten and the images are redrawn? Obvioulsy the procedure itself will be very similar even if it is rewritten since certain things must be done in a certain way. If the procedure is rewritten in one's own words and presented in a different format would it then get around the copyright protection? I know this may be a patent issue, but is this considered copyright infringement? : You said that the procedure itself may be patented? How do I find out if a procedure is patented? More importantly, how do I find out if several hundred different procedures are patented without checking each one individually? : I appreciate your help. : J
