: Do I need to obtain permission from a particular music centre [i.e. is there a copyright infringment?] if I wish to tape their music videos to show on a T.V. programme in the Caribbean?
Dear Mr. Ramjit-Jones,
Without taking any professional responsibility for the answer, nor researching it, I think the taping is an infringement and the Caribean playing is also.
Copyrights are international, though they have to be registered locally for enforcement. I seem to recollect one of the only few places without copyright protection is Jamaica.
