: What if this happened: : I were placed on a mothly retainer to develop a website. 3 months later I completed the job, uploaded the site to the clients server and was not fully paid. The client then hires an in house webdesigner and edits my original work, copies my pages over 200 times, and locks me out of thier ftp preventing me from taking anything down. The client continues to use my work and profits in the millions of dollars from it. : I apply for and am granted a copyright within the correct timeframe to have all my rights protected. : This client then alters my original design and claims this as a "new" site, implying that since they are not using my actual files they dont need to pay me. And I keep records of everything they have done. : Would I have a case and what are the potential damages or criminal implications for the client? : Thanks : DS
