: Hello: Dear Angela, The copyright law protects you from the monent of creation. Registration only gives the right to sue. The official Government filing fee for a copyright application is $30. If there is a big rush to have an issued registration so that you can go to court, aside for all the other legal cost, the official Government filing fee is about $550.
