Circulation of non-commercial videotapes in public libraries[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Copyright Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by Doug on June 03, 2000 at 11:44:10:
I would appreciate learning about circulation of non-commercially produced videotapes in public library setting. A local home schooling group has produced on their own a videotape about home schooling, & the group would like our library to circulate it as part of a home schooling kit. What are the copyright implications? The video is not copyrighted. It shows local children going on field trips. Various local businesses supported production of the video. Do parents need to have given permission for their children to have been taped? I want to be certain we can legally circulate the video to our patrons. Thank you!
