Therefore to obtain c/r protection these ideas : : would need to be expressed in writing in order to be fixated. : Assuming similarity between UK and US law, which does exixt, a copyright only protects a mode of expression, not and idea per se. Patents can protect a new product or method but not the idea itself. : A business may be conducted under a trademark or service mark. The mark symbollizing the goods or service is protected. : The Brits that tried to wave you off may not know how to deal with the legal terms. If you are sued, rightly or wrongly it is going to cost a bundle where ever it happens. You need local advice you can trust. : M.
