: How and Where can I copywright a cartoon character and an idea for a game? Getting a copyright registered is easy. Protecting a character takes a bit more legal knowledge. Games may be protected by copyrights, patents and trademarks, depending on the game. You can click on the Copyright Page of this Forum and get information but that can't substitute for knowledge of what to do. I used to feel guilty when I realize you can't do it right unless you known how. It's like buying Grays Anatomy and trying to perform an operation. Give me a call so I can get a better idea of what you have and what can be done with it. There will be no charge until after you are warned. Make a mistake now and it can cost big later when it hurts more. M.
